Chinese government kidnap Mexicans

Because of the swine flu pandemic, the Chinese government quarantined lots of tourists from the United States, Canada and, of course, Mexico. About 70 people from this country were confined, owing to the fact that one case of the swine flu had been diagnosed on a 25-year-old Mexican citizen.
Even if these people were housed in luxurious five-star hotels and made comfortable. Yet some of them felt this quarantine was “kidnapping”.
The Mexican government accused China of “targeting its citizens unfairly”, but China responded that it was a “purely medical issue”.
A charter plane was made available for the quarantined Mexicans to go back to Mexico. The plane left at Shanghai, stopped over at Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, and then returned to Mexico.

My opinion:
I think that the Chinese government is a bit paranoid, because they quarantined a least one hundred people whereas only one person has been diagnosed with swine flu. However, this reaction is understandable given that China doesn’t want the flu to propagate within its borders and wants to protect his citizens.

Quand la Chine kidnappe les Mexicains

A cause de la pandémie de la grippe porcine, le gouvernement chinois a mis en quarantaine un grand nombre de touristes venant des Etats-Unis, du Canada et, bien sûr, du Mexique. Environ 70 personnes de ce pays ont été confinées, en raison du fait qu’un cas de grippe porcine avait été diagnostiqué sur un citoyen mexicain de 25 ans. Même si ces personnes étaient logées dans des hôtels de luxe cinq étoiles, et ne manquaient de rien, certains ont ressenti cette quarantaine comme « un kidnapping ». Le gouvernement mexicain accuse la Chine de « stigmatiser injustement ses citoyens », mais la Chine a répondu qu’il s’agissait d’une « simple question de santé».
Un vol charter a été affrété pour les Mexicains mis en quarantaine afin qu’ils rentrent au Mexique. L’avion est parti de Shanghai, a fait escale à Pékin, Guangzhou et Hong Kong, et est retourné au Mexique.

Mon opinion :
Je pense que le gouvernement chinois est un peu paranoïaque, parce qu’il a mis en quarantaine presque 100 personnes, alors qu’un seul cas de grippe porcine avait été diagnostiqué. Cependant, cette réaction est compréhensible car la Chine ne veut pas que la grippe se propage à l’intérieur de ses frontières et veut ainsi protéger ses citoyens.
