'Sexual Harassment is a western problem'

  On October 17, China Daily – an English-speaking state newspaper - claimed that sexual harassment is a western problem.

  They wrote that the sexual harassment committed by Harvey Weinstein could never have happened in China because of differences between western culture and Chinese culture. The journalist said that Chinese men wont harass women because they are protective of their women. Westerners and critics reacted furiously, claiming that sexual harassment is also a fact in China. A majority of people also reacted on social networks and a lot of women shared their experience on Twitter, Instagram etc.

'' Le harcèlement sexuel est un problème occidental ''

  Le 7 octobre, le journal d’État en langue anglaise China Daily a écrit que le harcèlement sexuel, était un problème uniquement occidental. Ces derniers prennent l'exemple du scandale Weinstein, ils affirment qu'un homme chinois ne harcèlerait jamais une femme car on lui a enseigné depuis toujours de protéger les femmes, cela fait partie de sa culture.

  Les critiques ne se sont pas fait attendre, en effet, la presse étrangère rétorque que le harcèlement sexuel en Chine est bel et bien une réalité. Mais, les réactions sont encore plusnombreuses sur les réseaux sociaux, où de nombreuses femmes racontent leur expérience et affirment que le harcèlement sexuel existe bel et bien en Chine.
