On December 01, China launched the space probe Chang'e 5 to the Moon to collect 2 kilograms of moon rock 2 metres deep. The probe landed in an area with the traces of the most recent volcanic activity 1 to 2 billion years ago. If they succeed, this event will have political implications that are not negligible. Indeed, China would become the third country to have brought back samples from the Moon after Russia and the United States. The probe was scheduled to stay no more than 2 days, that is to say 48 hours, and will return today to the Earth.Beyond the scientific interest, China also wants to send an astronaut in 2030 and that is why they are testing new technologies.
China has a clear message to the world: “you will have to count with us in the space industry”. The Chinese will invest massively in their space program to catch up with Europe, the US and Russia.
Promets-moi la Lune
Le 1er décembre, la Chine a lancé la sonde spatiale Chang'e 5 vers la Lune pour y collecter 2 kilos de roche lunaire à 2 mètres de profondeur. La sonde s'est posée dans une zone où se trouvent les traces de la plus récente activité volcanique connue il y a de cela 1 à 2 milliards d'années. S'ils réussissent, cet événement aura des conséquences géopolitiques non négligeables. En effet, la Chine deviendrait le troisième pays à avoir ramené des échantillons de la Lune après la Russie et les États-Unis.
La sonde ne devait pas rester plus de deux jours, c'est-à-dire 48 heures, et reviendra aujourd'hui sur la Terre. Au-delà des intérêts scientifiques, la Chine veut aussi envoyer un astronaute en 2030 et c'est pourquoi elle teste de nouvelles technologies.
La Chine veut envoyer un message clair au monde : il faudra compter avec eux dans le secteur spatial. Les Chinois vont lourdement investir dans leur programme spatial pour rattraper l'Europe, les États-Unis et la Russie.
