First victory for a Chinese golf player


Feng Shanshan, 22, is now the first player from China to win a major golf event by winning the Ladies professional golf association (LGPA) Championship. She started playing golf when she was 10. She was born in Beijing and spent her childhood in the United States just before joining the LPGA in 2008. She has now reached the top.

Feng didn't think she could win and realised she had a chance when she started the last three days of the golf drive. She finished two shots ahead of Mike Miyazato, a Japanese player.

She said that she was focused on every shot she did, she really wanted to do her utmost even if she didn't win. Her goal was to be in the top-ten at a major event. She remained humble and said it was sheer luck to win.

In China, the number of young golfers has been rising these last years. The country expects 20 million players by 2020. In April, a Chinese 13-year old amateur became the youngest player on the European Tour.

My opinion: Thanks to this victory, China can expect to win others in other sport events. I think that Fen Shanshan’s attitude was exemplary.

Première victoire pour une golfeuse chinoise

Feng Shanshan est maintenant la première golfeuse chinoise à avoir remporté une épreuve majeure en gagnant le championnat de la Ladies professional golf association (LGPA). Elle a 22 ans et a commencé à jouer au golf à l'âge de 10 ans, originaire de Pékin elle a passé son adolescence aux Etats-Unis avant d'intégrer la fameuse LPGA en 2008. Elle en a maintenant atteint le sommet.

Feng ne pensait pas qu'elle pourrait gagner, elle a réalisé qu'elle avait ses chances lorsqu'elle a commencé les trois derniers jours du tournoi de golf. Elle a terminé ses deux coups d'avance sur la Japonaise Mike Miyazatoune.

Elle a affirmé qu'elle se concentrait sur chaque coup et voulait vraiment faire son maximum. Son objectif était d'être dans les dix premiers sur un tournoi comme celui-ci. Malgré cette victoire, elle est restée humble et a affirmé que c'était simplement de la chance.

Ces dernières années, le nombre de jeunes joueurs de golf est en hausse en Chine. Le pays prévoit même 20 millions de joueurs d'ici 2020. En avril, un amateur chinois de 13 ans est devenu le plus jeune joueur sur le circuit européen.

Mon opinion: Grace à cette première victoire, la Chine peut espérer en obtenir d'autres dans n'importe quels autres évènements sportifs. Je pense que Feng Shanshan a eu une bonne attitude lorsqu'elle a gagné, sachant rester elle-même, elle n'a pas eu « la grosse tête ».
