Honk Kong’s Mysterious murders

In the morning of Saturday 2 November, in an Honk Kong luxury flat, Wan Chai district, police uncovered the bodies of two Indonesian women, one stabbed in the neck and buttock and the other stuffed into a suitcase, with cuts to the neck. They immediately arrested a British banker Mr. Jutting, aged 29, living where the bodies were found.

The first victim was Sumarti Ningsih, aged 25, who came from the city of Cilacap in central Java. The Indonesian consulate was working with the police to find more about the second victim.

So Tuesday the Indonesian consulate spokesman Sam Aryadi confirmed that the second victim was Seneng Mujiasih aged 29, who came from Muna on Sulawesi island.

Tuesday too, Mr Jutting’s temporary lawyer, Martyn Richmond, said his client « may well co-operate » with a planned police reconstruction of the murder at his flat, but he declined to enter a plea.

Officers said that Mr Jutting himself called the police to his flat and the night before he was filmed coming home with one of the two women.

This cased shocked Honk Kong, one of the safest cities in China.

The city has not seen such a high-profile crime involving on of the expats who live there since the so-called « milkshake murder »

Meurtres inexpliqués à Honk Kong 

Samedi matin, le 2 novembre, dans un luxueux appartement d’Hong Kong, dans le quartier de Wan Chai, la police a découvert les corps de deux femmes indonésiennes, une poignardée au niveau du cou et des hanches et l’autre portant des blessures au cou et cachée dans une valise. Ils ont immédiatement arrêté un banquier anglais agé de 29 ans, Mr Jutting, qui vivait dans l’appartement ou les corps furent trouvés.

La première victime agée de 25 ans était une certaine Sumarti Ningsih, venant de la ville de Cilacap au centre de Java. Le consulat indonésien a collaboré avec la police afin d’en savoir plus sur la seconde victime.

Mardi, un des porte-paroles du consulat, Sam Aryadi, a indiqué que la seconde victime  s’appelait Seneng Mujiasih et était agée de 29 ans, elle venait de Muna sur l’ile de Sulawesi.

Mardi également, l’avocat temporaire de Mr Jutting a affirmé que son client « coopérerait du mieux qu’il peut » à la reconstitution du meurtre dans son appartement, mais qu’il refusait de plaider coupable.

La police a précisé que Mr Jutting les avait lui même appelés de son appartement et que la veille, il aurait été filmé rentrant chez lui avec l’une des jeunes femmes.

Ce cas a marqué Honk Kong, l’une de villes les plus sures de Chine.

La ville n’avait pas connu un tel crime impliquant des expatriés depuis le célèbre « milshake murder .»
