Fish rots from the head 

On December 5, 2014, China’s powerful former security chief Zhou Yongkang was arrested and put under a judicial investigation after being expelled from the Communist Party.

Mr Zhou is accused to have leaked partu and state secrets and to have accepted a large amount of money and properties.

As the man who once led China’s enormous internal security organization, Mr Zhou was long seen as invulnerable. But he will now become the most senior official in China’s communist history to face criminal charges in a corruption case.

Trial and conviction will follow. The process will be carefully managed to encourage the public to focus on the party’s current efforts to tackle corruption rather than its past willingness to let abuses of power thrive

Le 5 décembre 2014 l’ancien chef de la sécurité, Zhou Yongkang, a été arrêté et va faire l'objet d'une enquête officielle après avoir été exclu du parti communiste

Zhou Yongkang est accusé d’avoir révélé des informations concernant le parti communiste ainsi que l’état chinois en échange d’une importante somme d’argent et de biens personnels.

Ayant précédemment dirigé la sécurité interne, Mr Zhou avait toujours été considéré comme invulnérable. Mais il va maintenant devenir le plus haut fonctionnaire de l’histoire de la Chine communiste à faire face à des accusations criminelles dans une affaire de corruption.

Cette mise en examen sera suivie d'un procès assorti de lourdes condamnations selon un processus minutuieux et bien rodé. Cette affaire montrera au public les efforts actuels du gouvernement qui lutte contre la corruption et les abus de pouvoir.
