Pandamonium
Last Friday a twenty-year-old student was attacked by a panda at a zoo in Southern China. Severely hurt, he has been sent immediately to hospital.
The young man was visiting the park, one of the most popular in this region, with some friends when he wanted to approach a panda, named Yang Yang, and jumped over the 2 meter high fence. The panda was so scared that it bit the student’s arms and legs. “Yang Yang was so cute and I just wanted to cuddle him. I didn't expect he would attack...” said the young man from his hospital bed. He should stay a few days more at hospital but his days are not in danger.
Yang Yang, in its own, is fine: it eats and plays as normal.
The panda is considered as a “national treasure” by Chinese people and its friendly look is loved worldwide. Nevertheless, it is also a wild animal.

Gare au panda
Vendredi, un étudiant de 20 ans a été attaqué par un panda dans un zoo situé au sud de la Chine. Sévèrement blessé, il a été immédiatement transféré à l’hôpital.
Le jeune homme visitait le parc, un des plus célèbres de la région, avec quelques amis quand il a voulu approcher un panda, Yang Yang, et a sauté par-dessus la barrière de sécurité haute de deux mètres. Yang Yang a eu si peur qu’il a mordu l’étudiant aux bras et aux jambes. «Yang Yang était si mignon que j’ai voulu aller lui faire un câlin, je ne pensais pas qu’il allait m’attaquer…» a raconté le jeune homme de son lit d’hôpital.
Il devrait y rester encore quelques jours mais ses jours ne sont pas en danger.
Yang Yang, de son côté, va bien, il mange et joue comme d’habitude.
Rappelons que le panda est considéré comme un «trésor national» par les Chinois et c’est un animal apprécié dans le monde entier. Mais n’oublions pas que le panda est avant tout un animal sauvage.
