China seeks extradition for “threats” to Olympic Games

Eight Uighur terrorists are wanted; they are also Chinese citizens and will probably be extradited back to China.
They are accused of plotting, organising and financing terrorist attacks from 8th to 24th August, during the Olympic Games in Beijing. According to Wu Heping, a Public Security Ministry spokesman, they were members of East Turkestan Islamic Movement, a group which fights for an independent Uighur state in Xinjiang and they “seriously threatened the security of the Beijing Olympic Games and China's social stability”.
Currently, we don’t know where the terrorists are, but Chinese government hope “that the governments of relevant countries (…) will track them down, immediately arrest them and hand them over to China.”

Huit « menaces » pour les J.O. recherchés

Huit terroristes Ouïgours, citoyens chinois sont recherchés et vont probablement être extradés.
Ils sont accusés d’avoir organisé, comploté et financé un certain nombre d’attaques terroristes du 8 au 24 Août, pendant les Jeux Olympiques de Pékin. Selon le porte-parole du Ministère chinois de la Sécurité publique, ils faisaient partie du Mouvement islamique du Turkestan oriental, une organisation se battant pour la création d’un état islamique au Xinjiang, et « représentaient une sérieuse menace pour la sécurité des Jeux Olympiques de Pékin et la stabilité sociale de la Chine ».
Actuellement, l’endroit où se cachent les terroristes reste inconnu, mais le gouvernement chinois espère que « les gouvernements des pays compétents les rechercheront, les arrêteront immédiatement puis les remettront aux autorités chinoises.»
