Foreing Students heavily impacted by Covid-19

Since April, the USA has refused more than 99% of US visas for foreign students, the reason being that both the coronavirus and Donald Trump’s policy are make things very complicated right now with 88% fewer F-1 visas granted to students from India, 87% fewer for students from Japan, 75% fewer for students from South Korea and 60% fewer for students from Mexico. According to a new report in Nikkei Asia, citing U.S. State Department data, just 808 F-1 student visas were granted to applicants in mainland China between April and September, 99% fewer than the 90,410 F-1 student visas granted during the same period last year. Covid-19 now means 90,000 daily contaminations in the United States and many families are worried about the situation in the US, compared with 24 in China, 38,310 in India, 468 in Japan, 97 in South Korea and 3,762 in Mexico. In addition, since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, reports of racism against Asian American people have surged. 

Depuis Avril, les USA ont refusé plus de 99% des visas aux les étudiants étrangers. Pourquoi ? Parce que le coronavirus et la politique de Donald Trump compliquent tout actuellement. Il s’agit de 88 % de moins de visas F-1 accordés aux étudiants indiens, 87 % pour les Japonais, 75 % pour Sud-Coréens et 60 % pour les Mexicains. Selon un nouveau rapport publié dans le Nikkei Asia et citant les données du Département d’État américain, seulement 808 visas d’étudiants F-1 ont été accordés à des demandeurs de Chine continentale entre avril et septembre, 99 % de moins que les 90.410 visas d’étudiants F-1 accordés au cours de la même période l’an dernier. Le Covid-19 contamine 90.000 personnes par jour aux Etats-Unis et beaucoup de familles sont inquiètes de la situation, comparativement à 24 pour la Chine, 38.310 en Inde, 468 au Japon, 97 en Corée du Sud et 3.762 au Mexique. Depuis le début de la pandémie de Covid-19, les signalements de racisme à l’encontre d’Américains d’origine asiatique ont fait un bond.
